Hafeez doubtful for last WT20 group match:
Pakistan’s opening batsman Muhammad Hafeez might not be playing in Pakistan’s last group match in the ICC World T20 against Australia on Friday.
Hafeez, who missed Pakistan’s World T20 game against New Zealand due to a knee injury, appeared at training sessions on Thursday morning and according to PCB, he felt uncomfortable due to persisting pain.
“Mohammad Hafeez tried to test recovery of his right knee by running a couple of interval training laps & a few minutes of batting drills under the supervision of team’s doctor,” a statement from team management said.
“Hafeez felt uncomfortable with persistent pain persisting and in movement of the right knee he felt minimal level of stiffness and instability,” the statement quoted team’s doctor Dr. Sohail Saleem.
Hafeez will undergo further fitness tests on Friday morning to ascertain his availability for Pakistan’s match against Australia.
